Chapter Fifteen

Jon does the last button on his shirt and assesses himself in the mirror. He looks too good but his nerves tell him otherwise. Is this too casual? Jon wonders as he eyes himself in the mirror. He exhales loudly, chuckling. Who would have thought that he, Jon Quembly, would be nervous about a date? He glances at his wristwatch. He still has forty minutes to go. Jon moves out of his bedroom to his living room, ready to dash out. The doorbell rings, and confusion sets in. Who could be ringing his door at this hour? Muttering a prayer under his breath, Jon makes his way toward the door. When he pulls it open, a seductive Agatha is there, leaning against the doorframe in a trench coat. She puts a leg out, exposing her cream thigh. There's a bottle of wine in her hand.

"Hello, stranger." Before Jon can say another word, she makes her way in.

"Agatha, you're not supposed to be here tonight." Agatha doesn't respond. She drops the bottle of wine on the nearest table and tugs at the belt holding her trench coat in place.

"Agatha, why---" Jon sighs as the trench coat slips to the ground, revealing a rather dangerous Agatha in a black lingerie bodysuit.

"Surprise!" Agatha chuckles as she begins to undo her ponytail.

"Agatha, you're not supposed to be here tonight," Jon repeats, watching her antics. Agatha pauses to stare at Jon's unsmiling face. When she sees his expression, she frowns.

"I decided to surprise you. I checked your itinerary with Derek, and I know you have nothing planned for tonight, so what do you mean I'm not supposed to be here?" Jon heads towards the kitchen table, where the keys to his cars are all hung on the wall. He makes a mental note to warn Derek about sharing his schedule with Agatha.

"I have plans," Jon throws over his shoulder as he grabs a random key, not bothering to check which car it is.

"I can wait till you get back," Agatha says slyly as she inches towards him, ready to place a kiss on his cheek, but Jon inches away.

"I'm not sure what time I'll be back. I'm hoping I don't have to come back tonight," Jon says bluntly as he tucks his hands into his pockets, staring blankly at Agatha. Agatha takes him in carefully, a thoughtful look on her face.

"You're wearing new cologne and you're freshly shaven." Agatha's voice is bitter as she stares into his eyes. "You're seeing someone, aren't you?"

Jon chuckles, rolling his eyes. "So, because I'm wearing new cologne and I shaved, I'm seeing someone? Come on, Agatha. Insecurity is unattractive."

"Well, aren't you? You hate night meetings, and even if you had a meeting around this time, you would have gone straight from the office. But you, for some reason, took your time to preen," She shakes her head, sadness in her eyes. "You're seeing someone, aren't you?" She repeats.

"That's not a question I can answer, Agatha. What I do in my spare time is very wide and definitely none of your concern.
